The global photovoltaic (PV) industry is experiencing a rapid increase in the market share of bifacial PV modules. The ability of these technologies to use reflected (albedo), the diffuse and, in case of strongly tilted installations, even direct irradiance, through their back side, makes them a versatile and promising application.
The bifacial boom is leading to changes in existing PV standards and modifications in current measurement practices.
In this webinar , our expert Johanna Bonilla gives you a compact overview of the state of the art measurements practices and informs comprehensively you about the current requirements for bifacial PV modules

Johanna Bonilla studied Electrical Engineering with a 2-years specialization in Power Systems in Ecuador, at the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral, ESPOL University. She obtained her master's degree in Renewable Energies in Germany, at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and holds a professional certificate in Solar Energy in Hot Desert climates from the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Qatar.
Her previous professional experience covers the field of transmission and generation in electrical power systems, project planning and simulation.
Since 2016, in TÜV Rheinland’s solar team, she has devoted herself to the analysis of the energy yield performance of PV technologies and the climatic influences on their output power within the framework of several international projects.
Her expertise includes PV module characterization, performance analysis and bifacial PV technologies.
