TÜV Rheinland Greater China Status Update in Response to Coronavirus Outbreak

  • No staff infected or suspected in TÜV Rheinland Greater China.
  • Our laboratories in Greater China have resumed business from this week with over 98% of operation capacity.
  • 27 offices in Greater China Region have opened.
  • Except Hubei province and certain designated area, the inspection activities within province and cross provinces are resumed. All travel activities followed the TÜV Rheinalnd HSE policy.

Economic effect caused by coronavirus

TÜV Rheinland Greater China launched the in-depth survey on the impact of the novel coronavirus to our clients last week. As of March 5, over 300 clients completed the survey and over 86% of respondents resume business or business as usual in February. Through this survey, we expect to find the effective measures to help the business in respond to the epidemic.

Full recovery may come in March and economy will recover gradually since Q2, healthcare and medical, e-Commerce, online education will keep up momentum; public service and infrastructure will see beyond average growth with government capital investment.

Business continuity from external threat

Coronavirus outbreak alerts the business on the importance to display resilience, assuring customers and stakeholders of a continuous operation during disruption. On March 17, TÜV Rheinland Greater China will launch the online seminar on ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management. It helps business to better prepare in the face of significant disruptions from external threats.

Students and working adults are greatly affected by Coronavirus outbreak. The time spent on online classroom, online seminars and online meetings are much longer than before.
