Ensuring the quality of face masks

Face masks play an important role in epidemic control. During the coronavirus outbreak, the efficacy and quality of face masks has been a public awareness concern. TÜV Rheinland has launched testing services for different types of protective mask according to the Chinese standards or client requirements. The testing of protective masks boosts users’ confidence in your products.

Improving online shopping experience

The coronavirus scare has accelerated the shift toward shopping online. The demand of Chinese consumers for foreign products has grown exponentially, but the quality of these imported products may be doubted by the consumers. TÜV Rheinland is a signatory of the Koala.com Strategic Agreement on Quality Alliance. Koala.com, established in 2015, is a B2C cross-border e-commerce business platform under Alibaba. The Alliance integrates resources from all stakeholders to improve the consumer online shopping experience without compromising on quality.

Protecting eye health for desk job workers

Working or studying from home has become more prevalent since February. Users who look at a computer or mobile screen for prolonged periods may develop eye strain, discomfort, and potential injury. TÜV Rheinland has once again worked with Eyesafe®, the leader in new technology research & development on blue light management, to develop the Eyesafe Display Standard. This standard covers comprehensive high-energy visible blue light management and display color requirements, and provides guidance for IT industry high-intensity users across the public, enterprise, and education vertical sectors.

Wearing blue light filter glasses can be another effective means of preventing users’ exposure to potentially harmful light emitted by digital screen. TÜV Rheinland has launched the testing and certification service for eyewear and related eyewear products on the performance of UV protection and blue light absorption. The certification helps users to choose the right blue light filter glasses which protects the eye from harmful blue light.

Update Measures Taken to Beat the Virus

The transmission of COVID-19 virus has been increasing around the world. For safety consideration, all TÜV Rheinland staff returning from other countries to Greater China Region and he or she has been in close contact with personnel (e.g. family, relatives, friends, etc.) who recently returned from certain COVID-19 affected areas and this person has suspected symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g. fever, cough, breathing difficulty, feebleness, etc.) shall stay at home for observation for at least 14 days before returning to the office. Globally issued travel ban to and from China since the end of January is still valid until further notice.
